FIELD TO FEAST, A COLLABORATION DINNER WITH HANK SHAW

Hosted Sunday, October 28th, 5pm - 7:30pm in The Hickory Room at Wolf’s Ridge Brewing.

$85/ticket (includes dinner, gratuity and book) + tax.

You may also select to enjoy beer pairings with each course, which is $100/ticket + tax. A la carte beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverage selections will be available during the dinner for guests that do not choose to add beer pairings to their ticket. Get tickets now.

We are teaming up with Hank Shaw, author of the James Beard Award-winning website Hunter Angler Gardner Cook , to present Columbus with a very special dining event while Hank is in town on his current book tour.

Field to Feast will feature 5 unique dishes inspired by Hank’s new book: Pheasant, Quail, Cottontail. Included with the cost of each ticket is the full dinner, gratuity, and a signed copy of Hank’s new book! Hank and WRB chefs will be present during the evening to converse with guests and discuss each dish.

Ever wonder why a beer can be as pale as straw or as black as ink?  How about why certain styles favor bitter, citrusy flavors, and others have more sweet notes like a dessert? Please join us in the Hickory Room at Wolf’s Ridge on Saturday, November 11th from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm for a very special class all about beer; from its long history and how we brew it, right down to how we drink and evaluate it's flavors and aromas.

This private class will begin with an overview of how beer is made, and a brief history of WRB.  Following the tour, our head of quality control will guide guests through in-depth training on how to evaluate a beer's appearance, smell, mouthfeel and taste. Raw ingredients and 5 oz. beer samples of a few classic styles will be provided as hands-on tools for this sensory portion of the class. Class will conclude with a tour of our brewery!

Questions and open discussion will be encouraged! The class will conclude at 2 in our Taproom with a complimentary pint from our 20-beer draft list.

5 Year Anniversary Party!

5 years ago on September 27th, 2013, we opened our doors for business. The ensuing years have seen unimaginable growth within the walls of our building. From the addition of the taproom in early 2015 and a full kitchen later that year, to a brewhouse expansion that included new 45 & 15 barrel tanks and a full barrel-aging sour program. By mid August we will have expanded one step further, completing renovation on a new dedicated events space, the Hickory Room. 

Please join us in celebrating 5 years of craft in the Columbus community all day on September 29th! You can expect an amazing blow out party hosted in both the Taproom and Hickory Room events space with great beer and food. We will have 75 draft beers available throughout the entire WRB building that day, our largest draft lists to date! Ever tried a sour or wild beer? Not all sour beers are created the same, nor are they all technically "sour" in taste. Please join us in the Hickory Room at Wolf's Ridge on Saturday, September 15th from 5 PM to 7 PM for a private symposium all about these wild brews! This class begins with an open forum and in-depth discussion on sour styles, their origins and the methods by which they are produced. Following this, guests will be guided through a tasting with a number of beers from our sour, oak barrel-aged collection!

We will conclude the class with a tour of our brewery, including our ever expanding sour program: The Mangrove. The class may end at 7, but everyone is invited to stay and to enjoy a complimentary beer from our draft list (a beer token is included in the price of the class)!

Both our kitchen and brewery teams hold a high respect for tradition, which gives way to their frequent desire to pay homage and emulate classic food and beer styles. From this desire, we are proud to present our first ever German Beer Dinner! Our chefs and brewers have collaborated on a special, 5-course pairing menu that pays tribute to German cuisine and brews.

We are also excited to have this be the first beer pairing dinner offered our new Hickory Room events space! The event starts at 5pm with welcome beers, moving in to the first course at 5:15. We will have a sous chef and a brewer leading guests through each course, discussing pairing notes and inspiration.

Oktoberfest in the Hickory Room!

After weeks upon weeks in the tank, our Oktoberfest Marzen Lager is finally ready for it's 2018 draft and bottle debut! Please join us for a public party on Saturday, September 1st to celebrate the tapping of this classic style with true German flair!

For the first time, we will be openning up our new Hickory Room events space to the general public, fashioning it as a beer garden for the festivities. Entrance is located on N. 4th st., adjacent to our Dining Room.

Our team of chefs are creating a special German-inspired food menu for the day, and the brew team will be tapping additional German beers alongside the fresh batch of Oktoberfest.

We will also have 1L logo stein mugs available in the Hickory Room! A special stein offer will be extended during the party, 12p-6p, while supplies last: $15 to purchase the stein and your first 1L pour of beer (any drafts tapped in the Hickory Room), $10 refill pours after!

We'll be hosting a special edition of our beer 101 series on Saturday, August 18th from 10 am to 12 pm!

This class will focus specifically on India Pale Ales! We'll be spotlighting their history, flavor and aromatic attributes, different hop profiles, and the many diverse variants that represent the style.  Students will also be lead through a guided tasting of 5 different styles of IPAs.

Class will conclude with a tour of our brewery. Be sure to stick around, all guests will receive a token to be redeemed for a complimentary full pour from our 20-beer draft list!

Red Legacy Bottle Release - Summer of Sours!

There are rumblings of a returning beer from down in our barrel-aged sour room, The Mangrove. Batch #2 of Red Legacy, our Flanders-Style sour red ale, is soon ready to emerge! Aged in oak barrels for nearly a year on a mixed culture of yeast and bacteria. Acidic yet malty and complex with notes of black cherry, red wine, bourbon, oak and chocolate.

Bottle conditioned, corked and caged per Belgium tradition. 750 ml bottles of Red Legacy will be available for public sale on August 4th, but you can head to the taproom now to try it on draft for a limited time! $19.99/3 bottle limit.

We've added an additional 3 bottles to the lineup, check out the special offerings available at this release:

  • Litany Against Fear: Smoked Sour Ale Collaboration with Little Fish Brewing Company ($12.99/6 bottle limit)

Fear is the mind-killer. Face your fear and let it pass through you so only beer will remain. This Lichtenhainer is a historic style from Germany brewed in collaboration with our friends at Little Fish following notes from a 19th century recipe. We used Ohio wheat and beechwood smoked barley from Germany. The beer was fermented with the water of life in oak barrels using a blend of each brewery's native mixed cultures and lactobacillus. Months later the changed waters have bright notes of pear, white grape, and apple with a mild sweet and savory smoke character and pleasing tartness.

 

  • Swimming in the Mangrove: Sour Ale Aged in Red Wine Puncheons ($14.99/6 bottle limit)

An oak barrel is a beautiful sight. It captures the essence of the natural ingredients used in brewing and alludes to our past. Our California red wine puncheons dwarf the standard barrels populating The Mangrove at Wolf's Ridge and are especially beautiful to behold. These puncheons only age our most unique and limited projects. After a year of maturation we find clean stone fruit acidity on the nose that compliments flavors of oak, cherry, caramel and tart apricot A wonderfully complex beer from a remarkable barrel.

 

  • Terre du Sauvage Green: Barrel-aged Farmhouse Sour, Dry-hopped with Whole Cone Ekuanot ($12.99/3 bottle limit)

Batch # 3 is ready! Brewed with barley, wheat and rye, then fermented with a blend of Saison Yeast, Brett and Lactobacillus. Whole cone Ekuanot hops impart exceptionally juicy orchard fruit notes of pear, apple and peach.

Apple Brandy Dire Wolf Bottle Release

--Allotment of 2, 22 oz. bottles per person. $22 each---

Our taproom will be hosting the public release party for Apple Brandy Dire Wolf on Saturday May 19th! This is the first time we're releasing an Apple Brandy barrel-aged beer, and we think it's pretty darn tasty. 

Doors open at 10 AM, but those arriving earlier may begin lining up outside of the taproom garage door. We will not be handing out tickets as is custom at past releases. Rather than wait to begin the sale, we will start selling bottles right at 10 AM first come, first serve in accordance to the line formed. Limited quantity of bottles are available, and we do anticipate selling out. Our bar will be open at 10 AM as well for guests who would like to stay and enjoy drafts after getting bottles. Full draft list will be available soon, but expect barrel aged variants and Dire Wolf infusions!

We're doing things a little bit different this time around!

The Sneak Peak Bottle Release party will be similar to our past early bird events, BUT we will be including specialty bottles and a Teku glass in the price of the ticket. This means we will have cases packed up and ready to go, making bottle pick-up quick and efficient! Doors open at 9AM for breakfast and flights, bottle pick up with begin at 10AM. 

This will be a private party, ticket-only for 75 total guests, who will receive the following with the purchase of a ticket:

----Breakfast Sandwich/Fries & One Line Coffee ($15 value)
----Premium flight of 5 ($20 value)
----Limited Teku Glass ($15 value)
----Guaranteed access to specialty bottles before the general

International Women's Day Fundraiser

To benefit and support the amazing non-profit YWCA Columbus, our taproom will be hosting a public fundraiser and tapping party for a very special beer: Ladies Who Brunch!

Ladies Who Brunch was conceptualized and brewed by a female-led team of WRB staff, premiering in bottles and on tap March 8th to celebrate International Women's Day! A portion of proceeds from draft and bottles sales will be donated to YWCA Columbus, who's aim is to eliminate racism and empower women in our community. 

Ladies Who Brunch is also a celebration of the women of craft beer. Raise a glass and cheers to all the bold women who brew, sell, serve, drink and share beer! This brew is a twist on our popular All the Breakfast infusion, adding darker malts to create an imperial-style breakfast ale. The same fun ingredients were used to create the infusion, including Ohio maple syrup, orange peel, cinnamon, coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla and toasted coconut! Bombers available first come first serve in the taproom beginning at 3pm.

English Barleywine, 12.4%

We brew our English Barleywine to be layered with deep flavors. The finest imported barley is used and the wort is caramelized in the kettle before a grueling 4 hour boil. Bold and full bodied with flavors of toffee, caramel, toasted biscuits, fig, and raisin. A "nippert" is a small portion - which is all you need of a big beer like this!

 

-Lil' Nippert- (allotment of 3 per person) $18

Barrel Aged Barleywine, 11%

Barrel: Watershed Bourbon

After a year of aging in barrels Nippert emerges bigger and more complex than before. Wonderful notes of oak and honey are imparted by the barrel, layering atop our English Barleywine's caramel, toffee, and biscuity profile. A "lil' nippert" is all you need -but a full glass if what you'll want!

 

-Lil' Nibbert- (allotment of 2 per person) $20

Barrel Aged Barleywine, 11%

Barrel: Watershed Bourbon

We've taken our Barrel Aged Barleywine Lil' Nippert and added the finest English Earl Grey tea along with gourmet Haitian cacao nibs. Lovely aromas of bourbon and honey interplay with subtle chocolate and bright citrusy Bergamot. The flavor is even more complex with black tea and dark chocolate truffle notes alongside rich toffee, caramel, raisin, and biscuit.

 

-Dire Wolf One Line- (allotment of 6 per person) $12.99

One Line Coffee infused imperial stout, 10.4%

 

-All the Breakfast- (allotment of 6 per person) $14.99

Imperial breakfast cream ale (ABV TBD). Infused with orange peel, maple syrup, cacao nibs, toasted coconut, cinnamon and vanilla bean.

 

-Terre du Sauvage Green- (allotment of 4 per person) $12.99

Wild Heritage Series: dry-hopped farmhouse saison, 6%
